This is an interesting take on monopolies in the ebook publishing market (namely Amazon). I think it's something buyers and authors should be aware of.

It's amazing that there is NO mention of the Sony Reader and it's awesome store. I don't know how their publishing works, but they were around before the Nook and Kindle and seem to have simply been forgotten. I had mine a few years before the kindle and I still love it!

I wonder where they fall in...obviously not as a "contender" to Amazon. Sheesh...B&N as the underdog in the story? How things have changed!!!

Yeah, the internet is after all about the cheapest way of distributing things and no one seriously contested Amazons brand recognition in fields like books there until it pretty much became the normal place to go.
