Book Trailers
We all know movie trailers. Now some enterprising PR people have decided that books also need trailers, or so it seems. I'm running across links and mentions of them left and right.
What do you think? Do they work? Do they mix media that shouldn't be mixed? Would you buy a book if you liked the trailer?
And please, link any you want to comment on.

Re: Book Trailers
Hmmm, well I guess it depends on how it's done. Some times it isn't bad if a story actually has a bit of visual supplementary material. And one could make a trailer or some kind of introduction for a story with that as well I imagine then. So I guess it depends on how you approach the matter.

Re: Book Trailers
That seems a little odd - I am not fond of movie trailers, they don't accurately show anything about the whole movie. Having them for books would be different to the synopsis on the cover, how?

Re: Book Trailers
I agree with Muladzh. What's a trailer going to say (without ruining the plot) that isn't already on the back cover of the book? I mean, isn't the back cover summary ALREADY effectively a trailer? I guess I don't see the difference. So I'm not really AGAINST the idea, since I read the backs of books before I buy them.
