Re: I Wrote Today!
Wow - I feel like I'm kicking dragon tail today.
I just finished a fleshed out module for an RPG event I'm running in Feb. I've spent only two days writing this thing and all I need to do now is work up the character sheets (which I can't really do from work) and polish the module as time allows.
To me this is awesome - mostly because writing a module for a con is unlike anything else in the world. First I have to make sure I can fill 4 hours of time and keep it interesting - then I have to make sure I don't go over time and leave anything unfinished so I have to make sure it's all resolved at the end of 4 hours. On top of that I have to make everything self contained because I can't waste time looking over other peoples characters nor can I make the characters too complicated that only a seasons player could play them... and finally I have to make sure I've covered all my bases just in case they either stray off course or plow through too quickly.... on top of all that - it's formated for the public!! Yeah! I want to put it up on my website so other GMs can download it if need be-
Overall this is huge for me...
In all honesty, this is how I got into writing in the first place.

Re: I Wrote Today!
Wow, congrats!
I've tried to concoct adventures for an RPG group, and I know what a lot of trouble that is - even if it's done for a set group.
Creating an entire module is amazing! Well done!

Re: I Wrote Today!
So the drive that I had the full adventure on - crashed.
about 10 character sheets, photos and 8 pages of original content... lost... with it the project I was working regarding dragons... as well as a mailing list I needed to get done by the 12th..
...
well, I'm over it. Gotta get back to work.

Re: I Wrote Today!
Yeah... hugs... to me, they're kind of like laws. I respect them only because the seem to play some kind of pivotal role in society...
Anyway - the good new is I finished the mail list as of today and figured out a way to do it faster (as I had to make up for lost time). I also over on the adventure, and to be honest I think I like this new re-write. It's a bit more involved than the last one and the characters a better. I also have a new drive that is working while I've gained new respect for a older and smaller drive that's never let me down. so all in all - it's been a all win/win.
Okay, back to work.

Glad to hear that things are working out for you. Sometimes, redoing things forces one to do them better, too.
I wrote a bit yesterday. Only about 300 words, but it was the first real writing for this year. So, yay.

Re: I Wrote Today!
Actually, I wrote last night. Three hours straight and I'm two-thirds of the way done my story. I know how it goes the rest of the way, so now it's just time spent typing it from my brain into the computer, and then editing some continuity errors. (Some of this story was written a year and a half ago, so I feel the need to clean the older stuff up a little)
Up to 4000 words on my story.

Re: I Wrote Today!
I wrote today! This is rather remarkable, because until today I had only managed a few sentences a day. (Well, still more than James Joyce is said to have written, but ....)
Anyway, I launched into my Workshop story with new zest and got about 700 words this morning. It'll still be a rush to finish it on time, but I have started!

Re: I Wrote Today!
I actually finished a 10 page script for Episode 16 of my series. I was half way through it the day before yesterday and suddenly felt I needed to combine two scenes, drop an extra b-story and introduce a new b-story.
Just now finished it off with, what I think, is one of the coolest "villain monologues" I've ever written...
Oh, and I re-wrote half of my workshop entry.
Oh, and I polished and printed my module for this weekend...

Re: I Wrote Today!
I actually picked up my artificial human story and wrote about 500 words this morning. I think I'm beginning to get a grip on my gay and slightly whinging character.
Now I'm up to my ears in crits to write.

Re: I Wrote Today!
Phew! I just finished the short story, with a grand finale. I fear it's a little rushed, but the editing rounds will help with that.
I'm very happy to be finished. I wrote 3,272 words in one day. Amazing!

Re: I Wrote Today!
Today, I picked up that artificial human story again, and did a round of editing. I still need to add a few sentences on a second suggestion, but then it's nice and polished.
The crits I got focused on spelling and grammar things, not on the story. I'm not sure whether this is a good thing ...
In other news, I'm severely editing the first Konrad story. The structure is fine now, but the telling ... needs work.
Such is life as an author.

Is it an open blog?
Your story will count as published if it's online on an open blog. That'll hinder your chances of selling it. Just a thought.

Re: I Wrote Today!
I have maintained, all along, that I don't write to get published. It's an open blog and if that keeps it from getting published in the long run, I'll live with that. I knew it could hurt my chances when I posted it but I guess what I'm saying is, if this gets it read by my friends and occasional perusers of my site, good enough for me.
