Woot!

I managed 1,059 words for my paranormal romance. I'm getting close to the end. The tapping really is helping.

I wrote a page today in "Beyond the Window" (276 words). Asheri is eating grapes (at her size a grape is the same size as a small apple is to us) and trying to recover her energy before the sun sets and the scene with "the man" begins.

I was very tired yesterday, even after a long afternoon nap. I needed a tapping round, but then I wrote 1,177 words and finished my paranormal romance.

Yay for Angeni! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Another difficult day for me. I edited my paranormal romance and decided that one scene needs extra work. Fixed a number of typos and word flow.

Getting my 1k was hard work. I opened the Dragon Prey file and found myself in the middle of a crisis. Now, I didn't really want to re-read the entire story because it was getting late, I was grumpy, cold and tired, and wanted my bed. Heh.

So I tapped on all those feelings and gave myself permission to fail the goal, but to try writing, at least. And it took some willpower and a bit of a push, but I ended up writing 1,016 words.

And then I pretty much went straight to bed. emoticon

Oh Wow! I figured out that "Beyond the Window" has "parts." Part one is going to end up being seven chapters long. Then comes "part two" (length to be determined by events).

Today I added 113 words to the story. The end game has begun where Asheri will trick "the man" into selling the boy (Arlow) to her.

I hate struggling so much with my writing goals.

Yesterday was even worse. I waited most of the day before even sitting down and tapping. And I wasn't in a good mood - I had invited myself to a party a new neighbor was throwing, and I knew they smoke.

But with a lot of willpower, I managed to write 1171 words, and I did go to that party. I managed to stay for almost an hour before the smoke got the better of me. Eyes burning, raw throat....but I got to know the new neighbor a little and also chatted with one of his friends.

Took a shower and went to bed. And now I'm almost ready to put a curse on my neighbors (other ones, just below me) who are working with loud machinery for the third weekend in a row. *sigh*

Today I got into a CSS skin coding mood and did no editing in my first draft. I did add another 140 words to "Transit Promises," sharing a brief insight on Vivian's relationship with George. What's the proper term when a couple is more than friends but less than lovers? That is where George and Vivian are at right now.

No writing yesterday, but a first editing pass on the paranormal romance.

And I spent an hour writing up things that block authors, from a question I posted in an author group. That post is still getting more answers. They are almost more than I can bear.

Today, I rewrote the final scene of the paranormal romance, and I like it much better this way. Properly triumphant, and a true happy ever after.

That story is now ready for beta readers (be warned. It is explicit!).

More writing might happen later today. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Some might call them 'soulmates.' Depending on what are your feelings as to what constitutes 'soulmates.' Some believe the term is sexual, others asexual. I think it can mean a wide variety of things, which depends on those using the term. The Bee Gee twins considered themselves to be soulmates. I've heard parents say it of their 'special needs' children. And I've heard it used between lovers. And I've seen the term tear rifts within fandoms. One side seeing 'soulmates' as just friends who meet up throughout their reincarnated lives. Others seeing 'soulmates' as them being lovers throughout all of their lifetimes.

So, if you use this term, make sure to define what that means for this particular 'couple.' You don't want readers misinterpreting your meaning and then toss the book against the wall later on because they discover they were wrong in their perception of the term. (Some people love 'are they/aren't they' love stories. Personally, I loath them. I don't like my chain yanked. emoticon )

But, if you don't feel lke they're soulmate material, I'm trying to find other terms that may apply:

https://www.google.com/search?q=more+than+friends+but+less+than+lovers

I mostly see the term: Flirtationship. But perhaps you can define a new term, used in their day and time? emoticon

I'm not sure if that is a male thing, or just an individual thing across both genders. But I hate, Hate, HATE TV shows such as Jag that 'hinted' at a relationship between the two main leads throughout every season, and then put them together at the end when the series ended. I dropped them as a couple long before the show ended. I refused to be kept on a string, year after year after year after year. And their 'finally' getting together only irritated me. Several shows I watch do this as well, but I _always_ drop all 'are they/aren't they' couples super fast. I refuse to invest my time in couples that will only be a couple at the end of the last season. Nope. I'm done. Bye. emoticon

I rewrote the final scene in my paranormal romance and did a final editing pass. I even added chapter breaks.

It's ready for beta readers, but my favorite beta reader is being worked to death in his job... He does know the genre well, which helps a lot.

I will probably have to do some editing for the dragon story before I can fully continue with is. That isn't really productive for word count. *sigh*

Maybe I'll start something new. Or skip to another one of the dragon stories - but that'll also require planning. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I wrote a short blog post yesterday, and recorded video. The quality of LiveVideo on FB is horrible. For today's recording, I'll try Zoom.

It's another busy day today, but I want to try to get back into Dragon Prey. I forgot so many details of that story...

But you wrote!

I read through the entire "Dragon Prey" story yesterday, gave everyone names, eliminated a few typos and created a character spread sheet (just too many to keep in my head).

I haven't added any new words, but I think that'll happen today.

Well done!

684 words for Dragon Prey yesterday, after a day of distractions and procrastination. But I wrote! emoticon

And for some silly reason I'm thinking about a story I started for a prompt... that turned into a hot beginning of a fast paced story with alien invaders, a shapeshifting dragon and an "Exterminator" who is supposed to kill those invaders.

I have no real plot beyond knowing they'll have to deal with a really nasty big one, and that there is romance involved when it shouldn't. (That shape-shifting dragon is an emotion-manipulating empath.)

Love the ingredients. Need problems. emoticon
