They got out so we had to run around after them and try to get them back in. Luckly it only took a hour and a half.

Didn't write this weekend but I got some planning done and I wrote a hundred words or so this morning. See if I can get more done at lunch today.

Planning is an important part of writing, it just doesn't result in words on the screen right away and is thus less visible. Even so, getting some planning done is a very good step.

326 words and a pack of planning, both for chapters and for the second installment.

I hadn't realized just how unplanned the second installment was. I didn't actually have anything.

I'm starting to wonder if this one might not be better as a single novel with three "books" like they have in some books (Steven Erikson's Malazan series comes to mind)

The more I think about it, the more tempting that becomes.

But yah, 326 plus planning for 45 minutes.

That's pretty good. The structure does have an effect on a tale.

I spent some time planning today, as well, but didn't write a single word. And I doubt that's going to change tonight ...

There's not really much point in writing if it's not going anywhere, and the easiest way to know where it's going is to plan it out.

I don't know if I'm going to get anything written tonight -- it's House M.D. night and I've got both kids until around nine, so we'll just have to see.

Good job, WW.

I got no actual words written last night but I did a massive amount of planning for the second installment. There's actually a story there now, and it seems to fit. I'll scrutinize it more, later on, but now it looks like I would want a second story to look.

At first glance.

So, apparently instead of writing right now, I'm caught in the grips of planning the second installment of the story. This takes me back to the days when I was planning the first story. That was a long, long time ago. But I planned for forty minutes today, about the second book. I'll see if I can get some writing done over lunch break today. I hope so.

hmmm.. so you can post up stories here?

just curious about that....well too shy myself to post my own stories.

I have done a tiny amount more on my chapter 6 (or startof series two) plot.

but right now i am experiencing alot of sparks of background idears and past history info for my own use so im focusing on pooling that up first.

Well, there is a restricted forum for showing work (and another for workshops). If you want in, give me a holler. emoticon

Those forums are non-public for the protection of the authors' work - most magazines count a story as "published" if it's been visible in the open on the net.

Sorry, Firle. It's not the sequel to Resurrection. That's down the road a ways.

This one's my novel. You know, that novel that everyone has in them. Well, this one's mine. I can put a few chapters up here if you're interested. I don't know if i have access.

Anyway, I have not written in awhile. I was sick and then I was too busy wearing my dad hat to put on my writer hat.

Anyway, I'm going to try to get back to it tonight, barring dad-related or husband-related reality. (I was going to say distractions, but i guess the writing is the distraction, to some extent)

At least it's good to know you're thinking of a sequel to resurrection way back in your mind. emoticon

I didn't write at all, while I was away, didn't even think of it. Still, I had a great trip that was worth every minute.

Today I completed a complete rewrite of a short flash I wrote a couple of years ago. Hopefully I'll be submitting that after I've cornered someone to test read it.

Things were easier when I wasn't writing - I didn't have to worry about submitting and whether things were good enough to subject!

Thanks hadaad. emoticon My fantasy novel, Crystals. It'll around 530 pgs when I'm finished. (That's without editing though.) I'm so excited to be finishing it, I started it a number of times, got a fair ways into it then scrapped it, so it'll be nice to finally write The End! emoticon

Well, I didn't.

But - I went through my YA novel, and found that it's not as bad as I thought. I think I can finish it by end of August and have at least a half-decent novel.
