How to Keep Writing
For me, this has been a tricky thing ever since I started to write anything else besides my series. Without deadines, stories just don't get finished. I'm sure I'm not the only one with that problem.
So, what can be done to get that writing down? If you have any good tricks, please list them here.

Re: How to Keep Writing
1) Set aside a certain time of the day for writing.
This is advice I heard again and again. But how does one do that? It's hard to say 'Oh, I'll write between 4:45 and 5:30pm every day'. Life tends to get into the way of such plans.
And yet, this very method has been working for me for five weeks now. I have set aside half an hour every morning. In this half hour, I write. I surprised myself with being able to write and pushing my word count way up - my best is 750 so far.
In addition, I feel very professional. *grin* That's because I write every day, and because I get progress, even if it's not very impressive. I also eliminated this nagging feeling that soured my whole day if I hadn't written. Now, I'm free during the rest of the day, which feels great. Writing is no longer a chore, it's fun again.
Have any of you tried this?

Re: How to Keep Writing
Nope, though it seems like a good suggestion, I'll have to keep this in mind.

Re: How to Keep Writing
I think you said it yourself: deadlines! Set yourself a [realistic] deadline for completing a project and tell everybody about it. Make sure that the people you tell will nog you when the deadline approaches and complain if you miss it!

Re: How to Keep Writing
I just write as much as I can for the rough draft. I don't care how good it is and I don't put every detail in. If I get stuck I just say what the character is doing and continue. This way I have the plot of the story down and what the characters are doing. Then I go back and polish it and fill in the gaps re arrange ect... I just want to get the rough draft done.
It's working so far. In less than two months I've got three chapters left to go and over 100 pages completed.
If I kept editing as I wrote I'd scrap the story. That's how I keep writing.
