 Hello~
Hello!
I'm Nicole(tte) or Nike on the IRC channel~ I've known Firlefanz (and Vulpes and QS2) for a long time now(!), though it's been awhile since I've been here. 
At the moment I've been reading (actually listening on my commute to work) a lot of science fiction. Currently that's "The Temporal Void" by Peter F. Hamilton. (Space opera seems to be a favorite of mine, though I'm also a huge fan of "The Forever War")
When it comes to fantasy, I hold the sacrilegious position that I just don't enjoy A Song of Ice and Fire. 😱
What I do particularly enjoy, in the realm of fantasy, are stories that have strong female characters (I ❤️ "Ash" by Malinda Lo), and stories with interesting dragons. (Dragons that are aloof are cool, though I like it when at least one character is a friend/trusted by the dragon(s))
(Basically, I think dragons have the potential to be very interesting. Wise old dragons that horde knowledge and potentially look upon humans like a dear pet. XD)

Hiya Nicolette!
Babble away - I love your thoughts about dragons. Of course, I found the Pern dragons when I was a teenager (before Dungeons and Dragons), and that gave me a massive bias.
I'll have to look up Melinda Lo.

I'm late but hi! I didn't like A Song of Ice and Fire either, so you're not alone. I have a sudden urge to go read about dragons now!
