It sounds like a plan. BTW: I sent you a PM. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Joxcenia)Fri, 13 Dec 2013 21:33:38 +0000 Re: How Facebook Works for one Authorhttps://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235462,from=rss#post235462https://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235462,from=rss#post235462For a video lifestream, I would use Google Hangout on Air. It's free and it's also recorded and uploaded to YouTube automatically. It looks like the perfect tool for interviews or meetings with fans. Thanks, I have many more ideas! I might actually create a video this weekend.    nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Fri, 13 Dec 2013 08:24:07 +0000 Re: How Facebook Works for one Authorhttps://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235461,from=rss#post235461https://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235461,from=rss#post235461I know Grammar Girl got her book deal through her podcast. She barely had her website set up. iTunes is a good place for podcasts. IIRC, there's a podcast site, similar to YouTube? I can't think what it's called at the moment. Also, if you podcast your books, short stories, excerpts, they can go on iTunes & Audible.com, Where To Sell Indie Audio Books http://virginiaripple.wordpress.com/2011/06/11/where-can-you-sell-indie-audio-books/ Also, DailyMotion is a close runner to YouTube, so it might be a good idea to have videos there too. There's also livestream & ustream. You can video chat live with fans, and possible fans. *shrugs* nondisclosed_email@example.com (Joxcenia)Fri, 13 Dec 2013 06:50:25 +0000 Re: How Facebook Works for one Authorhttps://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235460,from=rss#post235460https://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235460,from=rss#post235460Interesting! Yes, I have looked into videos. In fact, I have created a few videos for my coaching business and put them online. Youtube is really good for that. I'm less sure about podcasts, because I don't know where to host those audios. I hope to participate in one soonish, though, and learn more that way. Which would you prefer?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Thu, 12 Dec 2013 09:08:30 +0000 Re: How Facebook Works for one Authorhttps://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235459,from=rss#post235459https://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235459,from=rss#post235459Two good marketing strategies are podcasts and videos. If you haven't looked into that, you might should see if it is as good an idea as I've been led to believe. I've only just started doing a search on it: Fiction Writing Articles+Marketing Strategies Using Podcasts & Videos nondisclosed_email@example.com (Joxcenia)Thu, 12 Dec 2013 06:22:37 +0000 Re: How Facebook Works for one Authorhttps://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235458,from=rss#post235458https://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235458,from=rss#post235458I gave up on LiveJournal (I still have an account there), I don't really use Twitter, but I have my blog connected with it. I'm also on G+, but not really using that, either ... Basically FB is it for now. I can see myself moving to G+, however, if FB keeps insisting that I pay for my fan page reach. The world of social media is constantly changing. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Wed, 11 Dec 2013 08:32:12 +0000 Re: How Facebook Works for one Authorhttps://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235457,from=rss#post235457https://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235457,from=rss#post235457I'm not on Facebook. Not sure I want to join yet another social site I don't use. I have LiveJournal, MySpace & Twitter. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Joxcenia)Wed, 11 Dec 2013 05:48:21 +0000 How Facebook Works for one Authorhttps://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235456,from=rss#post235456https://bmysticaladventures.runboard.com/p235456,from=rss#post235456I just discovered a nice and refreshingly honest report from an author who only uses Facebook and no other social media. She doesn't sell a lot through FB, either. But her fans help her point others to her books, spreading the word. Opinion: Social Media? No Thanks! I’d Rather Be Writing And that's how I view FB as marketing tool: A great base for word of mouth. Are you on FB? I am. Find me as Hannah Steenbock there.   nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Tue, 10 Dec 2013 09:34:20 +0000
