Der Mannwolf von Königsberg - Cover!
Just a few days before the books arrive at my doorstep, I got a preview of the cover picture.
Quickest way to show it to you is by giving you this link to my blog:
Mannwolf - Cover
I'm so excited!

Very nice picture

Re: Der Mannwolf von Königsberg - Cover!
Thanks. Although I doubt it's from 1822.

Looks a little to modern for that?

Re: Der Mannwolf von Königsberg - Cover!
Yes, I have been looking for pictures of Königsberg, because some of the buildings are in fact a lot older than 1822, like the cathedral the cover shows.
Most of what one can find is from the late 1890s and early 1900 - logical, because photography only was invented around then. There are some earlier sketches, but they tend to show the city from afar.
On the other hand, there are no modern photos, as Königsberg was almost entirely destroyed in WW II, and what the bombs didn't take down was razed by the Russians when they took over the city and tried to turn it into a perfect example of modern, communist city. It is a real shame to see what happened to the medieval city center where much of our story takes place: It's a bare island now, with only the ruins of the cathedral visible. And a huge concrete bridge spans over it. There is a group lobbying to rebuild a city center there, but ... well, Russia.
I think Erik, the publisher, did rather well.

Thank you, Renee! Glad you like the cover.
It turned out to be a lovely hardback, just the right size and weight to be comfortable in the hand. Now I just hope it'll sell.
