Santa Claus
Considering the time of year, lets consider a slightly silly proposition. What kind of person is Santa Claus in fantasy terms, say for instance D&D good/evil mage/rouge whatever character, how would we describe him?
Would he say in D&D terms be a Chaotic Good character?
How would he be seen in general fantasy terms even? Would he be one of those traditional long bearded mages with an odd quirk?

Re: Santa Claus
hmmm....I'm wondering at your choice of Chaotic.
I would have thought Lawful would be a better fit seeing his obsession with good/bad (nice/naughty)

Re: Santa Claus
I was thinking that entering houses with out permission would undermine the lawful part rather much.

Re: Santa Claus
Well, he does it with good intentions, and without breaking anything, so he might still be able to be Lawful.
Of course, he probably should be a shapeshifting mage, considering how he gets down chimneys at his size.

Re: Santa Claus
No, no, I'm with QS. Santa's definitely "good" (ie: trying to help people), but he's "chaotic" in that he does good in his own way, without following established laws.
The question is whether Santa is magical, or just really, really good with technology (cue Arthur C Clark quote). I mean, he could be a red/black mage (just to toss in some FF references and make the discussion even more complex!). Or he could simply have developed his own antigravity reindeer harnesses! The use of toy-making elves sort of suggests a mechanical bent, I would argue.

Re: Santa Claus
I would argue for "Neutral" over chaotic. He has a system afterall.

Okay, I suppose you might have a point, there.

Re: Santa Claus
His own form of justice clearly, does things his own way. Though the consequences seem purely limited to rewards for the good ones.
Quirky strange type of Rogue Mage?
