posticon Star Trek

I can't believe we don't have a thread about Star Trek here. I know of at least three or four who have opinions on the series, and several who went to watch the movie.

So, what do you think? emoticon

The new movie is an interesting new approach to Star Trek I think, though I wonder if it's not hanging a bit to much towards the action. emoticon

Re: Star Trek

Just yesterday I made a comment about Star Trek to two of my ~25-year-old coworkers. Can you believe it? They didn't know who Q was! I had to yell down the hall to the other 30-40-year-old engineers to prove to them that they really OUGHT to know that! I mean, for aerospace engineers, that's just shameful! emoticon

The last movie was entertaining, but... well, let's just say that I would have written some things differently. I don't want to give away any spoilers to those who haven't seen it yet, though, so I'll just shut up now. emoticon

As a non star trek fan, I actually loved this movie. I kinda think that was the point of it, though... to attract new fans by going in a new direction.

Really want to see this movie. Being old, emoticon I grew up with the original series. Captain Kirk and crew were regulars on my TV. emoticon
