41 days

That's the longest they've kept any of my stories. Are they just flooded with slush? Does it mean that it's gone to some higher level of consideration? Maybe the email got ate? Arg! I'm going crazy! emoticon

Or maybe they're closed for Christmas. Sorry that wasn't helpful. Maybe they got shut down for hiring elves and not paying minimum wage. Sorry that wasn't helpful either. Arg! I'm no use at this at all.

Trying, did they say anything about response times? And did you get confirmation of receipt? Some publishers do that, but not all.

41 days is not really unusual, as far as I've experienced. I wish you good luck for your story!

Blitzen, your post made me chuckle, which is a help. emoticon
Firle, they aren't really late. But always before they've rejected my stories at thirty days. Yes, they did send me a confirmation email. I meant the email telling me what they decided might have gone astray. Thanks for the good luck!

Hmm. That means checking junk folders. Although it's unlikely to happen when the confirmation email came through.

So, best of luck! Maybe they are indeed holding on to it and showing it to more readers.

Turns out an internet monster ate it. And it was a rejection. emoticon
