How is everyone's writing going?

I'm behind in my goals, what with all the fencing we are doing. emoticon It doesn't look like it'll get any better very soon either, got to put in the garden and then it's weeding. Guess I can't write if I don't have food! emoticon
Anyways enough about me! How are you guys doing?

Heh, I'm busy as well - and not writing as much as I'd like to. Two anthologies are taking my time, as well as family gatherings, invitations, and evening classes.

I'm glad I got two stories edited and submitted, though. That's pretty good.

What kind of garden are you planting? emoticon

A big one! emoticon A veggy garden, with things like potatoes and peas and the like. Mom wants to make it even bigger! Groan!

Ah, home grown veggies are much better than store-bought ones. (When I was a kid, we used to have a big veggie garden. Now I garden on a balcony. Heh.)

So, what else are you writing? emoticon

Well you know about my story for the Dragon anthology. emoticon I'm also working on my novel, Crystals. All my other ideas are still just growing in my head or written down and need a lot of work. emoticon
I'm also rewriting my novel chapter by chapter for my school.

I love fresh veggies! Even though it's a lot of work.

Writing has been going not at all. I had plans of immersing myself in my story to get some chapters finished but it turns out that work gets me so tired at the end of the day that I have nothing left but parenting and vegging after the kids go to bed.

Nonexistent.

Although I re-read a bit of my Nano project and still sort of like it a lot. Also, working on some planning for a serialized project.

All of my May writing plans went out the window when I found out that the files on my computer with my novel are corrupt.

Not to worry, I have three or four backup copies, I just have to find them.

Oh, no. That's still a lot of hassle. Hope you can find them easily.

Re: How is everyone's writing going?

I got unmotivated on my long project (haven't given it up, but I needed to put it aside for a while), so I started on a shorter piece. It's a story for 8- to 12-year-olds, which makes it surprisingly easy to write, for me. Ok, so I have to watch my vocabulary and (harder for me) my sentence structure, but other than that, writing for kids is much easier. It's so much more straight-forward. And SHORT. emoticon

Anyhow, I've gotten the first four chapters done in the last 1-1.5 weeks. (The basic plot is all lined up, or I wouldn't have started wriitng) So that's pretty satisfying.

Sounds great, Reythia.

I find that for me, writing for kids is almost harder than jumping right into a riveting adventure story. Anyway, all the best for you!

Thanks.

Well, the trick is just to make the kids story INTO that "riveting adventure story" that you like so much. emoticon Then it's interesting to write!

It was a slow start today but it picked up a little bit toward the end.

The TV was on and that always makes it a little harder but I'm going to try for 500 words a day, at least.

Re: How is everyone's writing going?

Me im not doing so great but it is because im using the 5 weeks coming to focus all on coursework then i will write more.

Ive have tried to write a page nearly everyday before when i have a break, all into a large refil pad notes and story plot, i must admit it seems to work when i have the motive to write down stuff.

im hoping that by using this pad up i will have created a rough layout to a good story and then use it as a guide line of information.
