You can find the call for submissions here:

As it's part of a forum, you can also find the submission status and the submission guidelines there, in different threads.

Re: Dragon Anthology - Deadline August 1st, 2007

Short stories 85000 to 100000 words long? That's pretty big.

I don't know if I could do anything short of a novel in that length.

No, that's the total word count for the anthology. Not for the individual stories.

Re: Dragon Anthology - Deadline August 1st, 2007

Okay, so I should have read a little more closely.

However, I did submit Resurrection to the dragon anthology.

I'm not terribly worked-up about it. I put in a lot of work toward that story but I realize it probably hits a niche this anthology isn't reaching for.

So, I will hope but realize that hoping accomplishes nothing.

Re: Dragon Anthology - Deadline August 1st, 2007

It was turned down. Mainly for the reasons that people brought up in the critiques.

However, Rob Santa did a very good job of letting me know what I could do to improve, not only that story, but also myself as a writer.

Glad to hear that, even though it's a rejection. I find Rob's a very nice guy.

Good luck with your story. emoticon

Do you have to be a member of the forum to submit to Black Dragon White Dragon?

Firle, does your submission have to be in rich text formatting?

Yes. However, I had a problem getting rtf to him. Still, for a first submission, it must be in rtf - if the guidelines state it.

Thanks. emoticon I didn't see it there but did see that someone asked about it so I wanted to be sure.

Re: Dragon Anthology - Deadline August 1st, 2007

The reading period has ended already, as the anthology has filled up faster than expected.

I'm glad that a number of members sent in their stories, even though they didn't get accepted. Rob Santa offered a great opportunity for getting experience in the submission process, and he's been a very considerate editor.

Let's hope the anthology will be a success. emoticon
