Writing is writing ... isn't it? Whether it's fiction, nonfiction, game designing/planning/rule making/etc., WWW code? emoticon

I think, as long as you state what the word/page count is for, it's all good.

I worked on a story outline today. No writing beyond figuring out the characters and the act 1 events.

You did well!

Yes, writing is writing. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I haven't done any writing for about six weeks now. It feels awful. Don't even know where to jump back in - Zell needs a lot of work before I can just go back to adding words.

I added 252 words to my "Transit Promises" story today. It felt nice to have both the time and desire to work on one of my stories again.

TP word count thus far: 17,156

Hurrah! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I didn't write. But I created a personalized ebook for my friend who won it through my FB launch party. That was fun. (Very easy with Jutoh, just add the scanned image, export, and done.)

I also finally created the epub I want to upload to Draft2Digital. This time, I want them to add the page with my other books. They adapt that to the place I upload to. emoticon

And I think I'll write today. emoticon

That's good work!

I spent part of Saturday going through Zell #3. I think I know now where the story should end in that book. Which causes problems. I need more material.

And I need to reasses part #4. Might have to rewrite some scenes.

I also spent Saturday evening reading and editing a friend's story. That was fun.

I played a lot on MeWe yesterday, made new friends and practically sold a book. A lot of the G+ crowd is moving there, and finally there is some activity. I hope it lasts.

Re: I Wrote Today!

Wrote some more today on this new project. It isn't quite new, it's just a different concept of a game I've been working on, and will be a sister game. Similar, but different, and deals with the same subject matter. I think this one is less complicated, and can be finished and ready in a few months. *crosses-fingers*

It's just a number of card games. (3 or 4 box sets when done.) So the backs will have one image per set, and only the fronts will have one image per card. There's more designing involved in creating the game boards ... which will also come with their own included card sets, plus card sets that will go with the game board but sold separately, and that game will take longer to finish than just the sets of card games.

Once I'm done with the project I'm currently working on, and I get it uploaded on the game website ready for sales, I have another game that might can be ready a few months after that, and then I'll go back to the 'sister' project. I'm trying to figure out which projects will take less time to have ready, and put them first, and those a little more complicated second, and those more complicated last. ... Sort of following the advice to put out short works, and build up to larger and larger works.

I don't want the more complicated projects to hold back the less complicated ones. I want to get stuff out there and see if they can bring in money while I take time on the larger projects. And that's why I decided to work on the games before the books. The books still need more time, and I don't want them holding back games that can be done in the next six months or so. (Although, I still work on the writing projects when I take a break from the games, so they aren't being totally ignored.)

That sounds really good. Yes, start with the less complicated projects - you'll gain experience, figure out how to produce and sell your games, and you can use that for the next step.

I wrote today's German blog post and recorded the video yesterday, and set up the newsletter this morning. This seems to be the pattern that works.

Will repeat this today for the English blog post which goes live tomorrow.

Still pondering whether to do NaNo this year, and what to write if I do it. Feeling very exhausted again...

Have a great writing day!

You could do a 'half-NaNo,' if you think a 'full-NaNo' will be too much for you. Give yourself permission to do a half, and maybe you'll then find the strength to do a full/whole? Kind of a way to take the pressure off, and then you're better able to focus? emoticon

Yes, I think I may do half a non-fiction NaNo and half a fiction one. Someone even suggested writing a bunch of short stories for NaNo, which could also be fun.

I wrote my blog post yesterday, about releasing stress and getting good sleep. How ironic that I didn't get good sleep last night. (But that was because of tummy problems, not stress.)

I think my biggest problem is trying to explain EFT-tapping in writing. On the other hand, I've already done that... can use that file. emoticon

You can link the written words/descriptions to videos. emoticon You'd still have to make it clear for those who don't have access to the videos, or don't bother with them ... but for those who will check out the videos, they could be an extra helpful bonus.

I was just thinking ... we see ourselves from the inside, so you can write your work from the inside, then watch yourself in your videos and write from the outside -- your observation of yourself, and put the two together. emoticon I can't keep my eyes open, so I may be speaking gibberish.

Yes, I have already recorded teaching videos. The technique itself is simple - by design.

The real trick to get it to work efficiently is to find the right words and the right twists of the subconscious. Or as the designer said: The Art is in the Delivery.

It's a good self-help technique, but it's better to go to a trained practitioner for the deep stuff. Ah, well. I will find a way.

I just find I'm slipping into exhaustion again. And yes, the midterms have something to do with that...

Ouch. *hugs*

I agree. My elbow is still hurting from something I did over a month ago... (yes, doc is on it).

Even so, yay for writing. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I don't quite know what's blocking me from writing. I feel a lot of anxiety. Certain elections may have to do with that...

I'm also still adapting to a big change in my online life.

Wrote a large number of pages on another new game idea/project that should be somewhat easy to get ready within the next few months. I may wait until the beginning of next year, for tax purposes, before publishing what I have ready by the end of this year. emoticon I'll see what I can get done by January, and then publish what is ready to go. Well, what I've ordered and played with and worked the kinks out of.

[Edit]

These new game ideas are, sort of, complimentary games that, in some cases, can be connected to the main game ideas I've been working on. Some components can even be used within the other game.

Because, the more parts a game has, the more expensive it is. So, I've broken down sections to sell separately. People can get what most interests them, or they can get them all. They can spend the amount of money they want.

[/Edit]

I like your way of thinking. If the game can be broken down that way, that's awesome.

I'm thinking of a computer game with extensions, except you're talking about a board game, I assume. Love that kind of sideways thinking.

I think I need to declare a non-writing week, and stop worrying about it. Maybe just make time to read lots, to get re-inspired. Spending my days in social media is not working, at any rate.

Yes. I came across the card/board game website, so that is what I've been focusing on. I came across a video game site, but haven't checked into it. I don't know if it sells video games, or if it publishes them. I figure later on I might dabble with the idea of creating video games, but I'll wait until I learn more about it before jumping in blind.

Glad the dry spell's over for you, Firle.

So I haven't done much the past few days. I'm in that between-projects phase where I know what I 'should' be writing, but don't quite have the umph in me to get on with it.

That said, last week I wrote eight of Jox's drabbles, which were...just so much fun. Required an immense amount of discipline--every other word was an opportunity for an extra paragraph--but the word-count is a loving (if tough) mistress. Don't know what I'm going to do with them yet, but I think T-shirts are on the horizon!

Thanks, Jox emoticon
