I wrote a couple of pages on one of those mini-legal pads. Found another notebook dealing with the article that may or may not go into the nonfiction project. It might be both a standalone, and included in the nonfiction project. Same with the garden/writing project. They can stand on their own, and people who might like them, but not want the exercises/prompts project, can have them separate.

All in all, I wrote about 600 words. Two intense scenes, and I just couldn't do more.

I posted the Exterminator parts in the Practice Hall.

I wrote 1012 words yesterday, most of them for Dragon Prey, but also a bed scene for The Exterminator. Next stop is introducing Gregory's team.

And as I lay awake this morning, I decided I will put my dear chatfriends into the team, those that are no longer alive. And somehow, it felt really good to plan the characters inspired by them. (They were also members here. FurrySaint and TheKid965. I miss them terribly.)

I also have the basic premises for book 2 and 3 in the series. It'll either be called "The Incursion Chronicles" (sorry Rick!), or "The Breach Chronicles".

So yeah... another twist. emoticon

Re: I Wrote Today!

PR: Thanks. Setting them up is helping me figure out what I want to say in the eArticle. I've written a lot of it already, but was having trouble getting my ideas down in the order it should go. I have separate sections written, but not sure what order they should go in. Each section is its own idea, but is connected to each other so that they combine in the eArticle perfectly.

I've picked it up and laid it back down many times over the last few years, letting my idea/s brew. I'm hoping with the board set up I can get it all worked out and maybe be the first thing I publish. emoticon *crosses-fingers* But I'm bad about getting stuck and jumping to something else, and then something else. But, at least the eArticle works well with the other four, or more, projects I have going ... so maybe I'll have them all ready fairly close together, and they can compliment each other when they're published.

One can only hope. My niece will have ten days off from her job soon, and I'll have to drop everything to help finish cleaning out Mom's place and getting rid of as much stuff in yard sales as possible before gathering up what's left and donating it. (Or selling it at an Auction, or to the Auction people for them to sell.) I'll be so glad when that's all done.

But then, there will be tubs of papers to go through. Toss what doesn't need to be held onto for a limit of time, and then toss it once the amount of time has passed. Dealing with everything once someone dies is like rubbing salt in a wound. They're for sure not coming back. And stuff that meant something to them is being gotten rid of to make room for someone else to occupy that same home.

We're getting closer to done. We'll get there soon. And I won't have to go to Mom's house every day like I've been doing since Mom got to where she had a hard time walking out to the mailbox. To where she couldn't pack the heavy bags used for her dialysis. I can stop at my mailbox and turn back toward the house. I'm sooooo ready.

Jox: That is a lot of heart-ache you're facing. I hope it'll be done soon and all of you can move forward.

I put 1,103 words into the dragon story yesterday, after a full day. It was fairly easy, although there was a nasty surprise for Sidren - the dragons she thought were allies are refusing to help.

Writing out plot ideas for the Exterminator, and testing the scenes in my mind. I never watched Supernatural, but I'm afraid I'll be accused of stealing some of their plots... when I'm just playing with general demon ideas.

I wrote 1,013 words for the dragon tale yesterday. It's starting to turn into a habit. Having a clear goal does help. That way, I know I'm done when I did the 1k - but I have permission to write more if the words flow.

Sidren and friends are developing battle plans. I think they are clever. emoticon

Chanel is watching the autopsy of her double and sent this text to her fiance:

Well done, Rick!

The trouble focusing might have to do with stress levels. We need to relax a little in order to have creative fun. So yes, I think it's temporary.

I added 1,111 words to the dragon tale (yes, I made it that number on purpose, when I stopped it was 1,110, so I added one more word). emoticon

Also added 68 words to The Exterminator. Gregory's team doesn't like his new girlfriend. *grins* (I wonder why... emoticon )

I added 130 words to "Transit Promises" today. Cithera and Nell are now official liaisons between Captain Tasunke and Captian Greer. Vivian has access to all ship security systems under MCPO Francis Garland.

I discovered a character mixup in my story and had to edit my last 1,400 words to correct the error. *sigh*

Woops, missed a day!

I managed my 1k both on Saturday and on Sunday. "Dragon Prey" is almost finished. The new dragon-human alliance can begin.

I'm seriously pondering what to focus on next. I want to rewrite the Minotaur story, after Doranna put so much energy into critting it. And there's the Zell trilogy that's almost finished. (I'm planning a rapid release for that one, hoping to build some momentum.)

Either projects are Joanna stuff, and I need to think about how to launch that pen name.

Also messing up my coaching launch again. *sigh* There are days when I hate myself.

I put 610 words into Dragon Prey and ran out of story. Then I added 414 words to The Exterminator.

This means I need to choose a new story as priority story. Logically, this should be Zell 3, so I can prepare a rapid release for the trilogy in fall, to give Joanna a great debut as well as movement.

Minotaur and Exterminator are close seconds, since they are fun. Too many story ideas... there's also Konrad II, which is almost done.

Decisions, decisions... emoticon emoticon emoticon

I put 1,104 words into the Exterminator. Found the title for the second book - "Demon Hunter". And I'm thinking about a title for #3, but nothing good has come up yet. Having great fun with the first demon fight, in a library of all places. emoticon

However, it would be much more logical to shift over to Zell, and get that trilogy up and selling. Maybe that'll happen this weekend. Oh, I still need beta readers for Zell #2. Comissioning covers for the trilogy will be expensive... emoticon

I need to set up systems. For editing, for beta readers, and for cover creation. And that means taking my writing serious and treating it like a job. Not sure I want that...

Anyway. I wrote, and I am rather proud of myself for still doing the 1k/day routine.

I woke up with an idea brewing in my head. It is for a story I haven't started yet. It is in a storage container with with a couple of notebooks with scenes and other ideas for plot, etc. I wrote it down ... about a half page.

A n d ... my lights just went out. I'm on a battery backup, but I should probably get offline before it runs down.

Laters.

Jox, well done on that story development. Sorry you lost electricity there...

I kept adding to "The Exterminator", mostly because I don't have the energy for getting back into Zell at the moment. Things are a bit manic.

So I put 1,067 words into that story yesterday evening. They managed to banish the demon before it did more damage, and then started talking about dragons. That scene needs much editing - lost my voice there, and my tough dragon shifter became a blushing puppy. Gah.

My lights came back on about 35/40 minutes or so later.

NOTE: As I've stated before, I like to write in longhand. I tend to keep notebooks, folders, and research, etc. in storage containers. I put a piece of tape on the container and write out the book title, or type of story it is: #VampireParody #VampireTale1 #TheOtherFoot #NonFictionWIP #BlueBellCreek

Some storage containers are bigger than others. Such as the one for the vampire stories. I have all vampire stories in one large container to hold all of the books on vampires I own for research. Although, recently, I removed the notebooks and folders and put them in a smaller container I keep on my bed for when I get ideas during the night, I can write them down. Plus a notebook to write down my dreams/nightmares.

I have containers on the couch, on shelves in the spare room. It's just easier to keep track of the research books, notebooks, folders, etc. this way ... plus lugging them around and switching them out as I work on each project and change from one to another and back again. Probably would be so much easier if it was all on a computer, but I just like having it to physically work on ... and if I lose what's on the computer, I can just type it in again.

Jox,

I admire your organizing systems. That's impressive. However... you're basically spending a lot of time and energy on just organizing your projects. Putting this time and energy into actually writing, even if it's just typing up what you have already written and creating a file (which you will need for formatting etc.) will give you much more progress.

And if you feel resistance to that, sit with it and become aware of what is holding you back. Because something is.

Nothing compares with the feeling of publishing your first story. I can promise that.

Rick: Well done! Impressive word count.

I put 1,020 words into The Exterminator. My characters are horsing around. Yes, they are doing their jobs, but also twisting the story into much more comedy than I expected. Hmmm.

It was just a perk I slowly stumbled into. I didn't organize it all at once. I would buy a few containers at a time, and then add projects to them. Then buy a few more containers ... ... and so on and so forth. And before I realized it, I had the projects organized.

I took a break on Friday - rather exhausted after that root canal appointment.

But I wrote 1023 words on Saturday, for The Exterminator, and I wrote 1023 words again on Sunday, but for Zell #3. I discovered that the average alien does not get good food... they live on a kind of concentrate. Zell is shocked.

The number one project I'm trying to get ready first is the nonfiction WIP. Book, eBook, game, game cards, eArticle. I was planning on adding the eArticle to the Book/eBook, but decided it could be both an eArticle, and a chapter/section in the nonfiction Book/eBook. So, hoping to get that done first. It goes with the demo boards I'm setting up as a visual example to the info in the eArticle.
