Sorry to hear that something else broke, Rick. I hope it'll be an easy fix. *hugs*

My stories are developing. I'm vibrating with wanting to tell them, but not all pieces are in place yet. Today will see some writing, that's for sure.

I also need to record videos for my blog and for my event. I think that'll happen today, as well. I need to build a little buffer so I can set up blogs and newsletters for next week, when I'll be on vacation. I can do everything but the videos from my laptop, but I want it done and out of the way so I can enjoy visiting my Dad.

Happy writing! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thank you for the hugs Firle. 2018 is not as nasty as 2017 was, but it would be nice if things would stabilize for a few months. emoticon

I am placing the prep-work for posting updated skins/themes in the same group with editing/creating.

Today is one of my "crunch days," so hopefully my new schedule idea will work on it like it did on Monday.

I wrote yesterday, at least somewhat. I had forgotten my skype meeting with a Dutch buddy, and his call dragged me out of bed. I managed about half of my todo-list.

Still wrestling with my new stories. Absorbing what my author friend said. Replanning the series a little (I might leave the big revelation for the last book in it).

Need to prepare my blogs for my week off, so I'm not sure how much writing I can get done. I'm hoping for some writing time during my vacation. I know my Dad will have some other things to do. (I need to charge my laptop and run updates before leaving. Ugh.)

Rick, good luck, and I really wish things would stabilize for you. emoticon

Wishing everyone a good day and much inspiration! emoticon emoticon

Hi guys! Sorry for disappearing! First the snow went in a week and the temps sky rocketed to over +20 so it was like going from winter to early summer, now they're saying we might get [sign in to see URL]... emoticon Then my brother got out of school so we've been running around doing all the things that we couldn't with such a late spring, visiting a bunch of relatives, and just spending time with the bro. emoticon
Lately we've been trying to fix an old fence so the sheep , who are frantic to get at the barely an inch high grass, can have a new field. So many fallen trees and rosebushes and stupid barbed wire. By the end of the day we're tired, sore and bleeding. However got to keep going because we're running out of hay again and the sheep keep busting out of their pen searching for every scarp of green they can find. We figured it out and we had snow for at least a month and a half longer then normal so it isn't surprising that animals and humans have been going stir crazy.
Next week it'll be time to lay out the garden and seed the cold liking plants. Mom is planning on expanding the [sign in to see URL]. emoticon emoticon Also hopefully we'll get the fence finished.
I have been writing a bit. I actually started over again and am happier with how things are going. Also did a post hopefully helping Pastor Rick with his editing. I'm pleased with how much I've got done while feeling as tired as I have. emoticon

There's more but this is getting long so I think I'll say good night. emoticon Hope you all are doing good and your writing is progressing and making you happy!

Hi Trying! Welcome back! emoticon emoticon

Of course, you were busy when you basically bypassed spring. And yay for having your brother back for a while. emoticon

Yay for writing anyway... that must have been quite an effort. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I've been writing for the secret pen name, mostly. Today, however, is dedicated to get next week's blog posts up and running, and the newsletters written. I want that out of the way so I can enjoy my week with my Dad. (Will leave tomorrow, back Saturday next week. I will check in a few times, just don't know when.)

Stuck on the Minotaur rewrite - but I think I can get it all settled and write it out. Also loving the sequel to that... and the whole series idea. So MUCH to write. There's also Zell and the dragon tale... good times ahead.

No sales since May 1st, and somehow, that isn't really bothering me. Got a new sign-up for my newsletter. (If you do that, you'll get "Borderline" for free.)

Wishing you all an awesome day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm back from my vacation.

It was wonderful and just what I needed. We didn't even do "fancy" stuff every day. But I got walks and hikes, I got time in town, lots of writing, chats, and some card games in the evening.

And lots of rest.

I wish that could be my true life. It would be awesome. emoticon

I wrote a bit yesterday morning, then went to work. *sigh*

Such a waste of time. I feel it very acutely right now. And I know something will have to give soon...

I spent the afternoon setting up SSL certificates for my websites and digging into GDPR. I think I can set up basic functions by the deadline on Friday, and will work on the deeper stuff in the next weeks. (Data protection and flow documentation, data processing contracts etc. Really fun stuff, about as entertaining as doing taxes...)

Blogging is going into support for creatives these weeks. Might cost me some subscribers, but I hope it'll also gain me more.

No writing. It's blog days.

I spent my afternoon getting my author website into full https mode, earning the green padlock. It took hours, because of anxiety management and lack of tech knowledge. Got it done eventually, with the help of my friend "Plasma".

Three more websites to go. I hope it'll be easier and I can finish that today. Which means I will have tomorrow to set up my "Data Protection Documentation". Will probably spend the weekend doing all the behind-the-scenes stuff that still needs to be done. (Contracts with every single company that handles any of the data collected on my website, for example. Yes, for all cookies, IP addies and such. emoticon )

I did have an inspiration for the titles for my Konrad novels, if I ever get them translated into English:

Finder's Test
Finder's Quest
Finder's Best

What do you think? emoticon

So I stayed up past midnight to get things fixed for the GDPR.

All my websites now are SSL certified. They all have a privacy policy (that's less than perfect, but at least it's *there*). Hannah website even has two.

After I came home from work, I crashed. That nap and rest took longer than I expected, but it was worth gold: I could work my way through those GDPR chores with a calm mind and good focus. Quite a lesson there...

Today, I'll rest and take care of details. And I'll find out how to sell an online course safely in the time of GDPR. Because I plan to teach one next weekend.

Wishing you much writing! emoticon emoticon

I took time today to run maintenance on my computer. Everything was out of date, so it was a case of updating first and then running the programs. Six+ hours for a full sweep against spyware, malware, and virus' then almost two hours to optimize my system! I didn't get much else done but protecting what I have is important and has to take priority sometimes.

My goodness! Yes, that was a necessary task.

I had a weird and somewhat rough weekend, although it was my own fault.

I started reading a novel after going to bed Friday night, and when I finished it, it was 7am. I really need to stay away from novels...

I was mostly out of it on Saturday. Minimal writing.

Sunday, I met an EFT colleague I've known online for years. Lovely chat, and a nice walk through my home town.

Of course, very little writing, and I am totally messing up (self-sabotaging) the launch of an online class. *sigh*

I had a coughing fit after lying down last night, and now my tooth hurts. I suppose it's a good thing I have an appointment with my dentist today. *another sigh*

Wishing you a better day. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today (Memorial Day in the USA) was different. The wife and I looked at each other and decided this would be our day. I did nothing for RB or in any of my writing projects after 8:30 AM. My wife wrapped up all of her hobbies, and we turned off all devices that could tempt us.

Then we got in the car and went to Dallas for a full day dating experience. We toured the World Aquarium and had lunch at the 1801 patio restaurant. Neither of us paid any attention to what the monetary cost was. We watched Mayan's dancing and a shark feeding. The goal was to be with each other and share that special something that brought us together over three decades ago.

The day was awesome! emoticon

Oh, Rick, how lovely! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Tooth is better today, but my jaw still aches. That's mostly from keeping my mouth open "wide" for so long. Dentist did more work clearing out the root canals, then put another temp filling on. If the tooth keeps quiet, it'll get a real filling in three weeks.

Yesterday, I finally tackled setting up a PayPal button with AWeber list integration for my Tapping Into 1k class on Saturday. That's more work than I expexted, and I still need to set up the FB group and the autoresponder, but I'm getting there. I hope I get a few participants, but basically, this will be a test run. Once I get it all set up, I can repeat it much more easily next month.

It's brilliant weather, and I utterly enjoy having the balcony doors open when I'm home. I closed them today, because it's supposed to get rather hot, and the sun is on that side of the house all morning.

I wish I didn't have to waste so many hours per week in my day job... I want to write and coach. emoticon

Wishing you a great day! emoticon emoticon

Busy days... running at the limit, actually.

I'm still working through everything needed to set up the class for Saturday. Final piece is the autoresponder email for those who buy. I must finish this today, so I can start a marketing blitz for Saturday.

Yesterday afternoon, I curled up in bed, fighting overwhelm and trying to think through the autoresponder email - and my tooth started to ache. *sigh*

I really hope it's just the damaged and insulted nerve throwing a fit. Technically, the tooth cannot hurt.

No writing.

On the other hand, I read a short story by Kris Rusch that touched me deeply: ]The Museum of Modern Warfare

Wishing you a lovely day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

My class offer is all set up, and I am very glad about it. Saturday is the test run (I hope I'll have some takers), and the next run for end of June will be much, much easier. All I have to do is to adapt the dates.

I did take some time-out and sat on the balcony, doing Sudoku. And I daydreamed about the Minotaur story, and thought some more about the story I linked yesterday. (Go. Read it. It's worth it on many levels.)

Tooth ache is easing. It's a relief - less because of the pain because it isn't really that bad, and much more so because I can worry less now.

Another beautiful day. I managed to cool off my apartment by having all windows open at night. Now they are all closed to conserve the cool. emoticon

Happy writing! emoticon emoticon

Talking to myself here, it seems. emoticon

Anyway, yesterday I rested quite a bit, and that felt very good. Got a nice afternoon nap, and they are very restoring. I did some marketing for the class, hung out on FB, and took it easy. I even made food.

Today, I want to tackle the corrections for the Konrad novel that my mom sent me months ago. Somehow, that seems right.

I'll also upgrade Zoom so I can have larger meetings, in case people do sign up after all. *sigh*

That constant tooth ache doesn't make for a relaxed day... I'll be back at the dentist as soon as possible (Monday at the earliest), even though I have an appointment in three weeks. Not waiting that long.

No sign-ups for the class.

Which means I'll change the date of the class and the price, and then start marketing it even more, on more platforms and with better memes.

It's beautiful weather, and I plan to make good use of my balcony, as well as the time that has freed up. Writing is on the agenda, and if I get very, very brave, I might design my first Amazon ad. Got to generate income somehow!

Wishing you all a good Saturday! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Rick, that's a cute drawing. I posted mine on Support.

Tooth is much better this morning. No, I didn't do anything, and I didn't take any meds. Still sore to the touch. Weird stuff, if you ask me. (Oh, I did some tapping and asking for healing...)

More thinking about stories. Minotaur, secret pen name stuff, even Dragon stories. I think I can write today. I want to write today. emoticon

I started updating the class page, keeping the link. All that's missing now is the new PayPal button, and I hate setting them up. That system has no finesse.

It's cloudy and coolish today, which is nice. We need rain, but it's not in sight.

I hope it's going to be a nice, slow Sunday. Wishing you all a great day!

Tooth is still improving. I don't get it, except there might be a large psychosomatic aspect to it - the pattern is that it gets worse on weekends, and when I have stress.

I'll try and talk to my dentist about that today. Which means I don't know how the day will go.

I have updated my T1k website (that's my shorthand for Tapping Into 1k), with the new date, the new price and a new paypal button. I even fixed a mistake with AWeber, so buyers will now get signed up to the correct email list... yay.

In addition, I have set myself the goal of writing 1k words per day again. I might as well do what I preach, and it'll give me little stories to tell about tapping and writing.

So yeah... hoping for progress. emoticon

Happy day and happy writing! emoticon

The plot is moving in the tooth saga. I have been sent to a specialist for root canals. He checked the x-rays and told me that my dentist really didn't have a chance of getting it done - my tooth is truly special. Its roots are tricksy.

Fortunately, the specialist thinks he can save it. We set up a series of appointments to do that. Unfortuntaly, I have to pay a large part of the treatment out of pocket.

In better news, I have made a decision about my writing projects: I will focus on finishing Dragon Prey and getting it out, since it's set in my dragon universe, and might help drive more sales. Second focus is the Zell trilogy, more precisely part #3. This will be Joanna's debut. (And difficult to top.)

I want to put in 1k per day, and if I stop writing after reaching 1k and want to keep going, I'll switch over to one of the lesser stories (Minotaur, Artemis, Konrad...)

We'll see how this goes.

Weather is beautiful, the clouds I woke up to have disappeared and it's going to be mildly warm. Plans for today include cleaning and recording video for the blog.

Wishing you a lovely day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Yesterday was nap day. I crashed in the early afternoon and slept for THREE hours. That felt really good and was much needed.

I wrote ~1k for my dragon tale, and I bought a book cover. Which triggered plot ideas for that story. It's going to be a wild romp with a demon hunter and a dragon shape shifter, definitely a Joanna story. And a sequel is already offering itself, too.

Writing is so exciting! I wish I could make a living with it.

Have a wonderful day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

We're working on Mom's house again. Ripping out the carpets and moving what's left from 4 rooms into the rest of the house. My niece is going to renovate the three bedrooms, bathroom, and hallway first. Then she and her kids will move in and live there while the rest of the house is renovated. They'll be closer to her mother and me, so when the kitchen gets worked on she isn't far from her mom's kitchen.

I'll be glad when the house, and all of mom's stuff is taken care of so that I don't have to put what I'd rather be doing on hold.

Jox: It's a good thing your mother's house is getting new life and someone else is taking over responsibility for it. And I hope you'll get along well with your niece and her kids.

Long day yesterday, with blogs, a client session and writing.

The client session was awesome. We very gently released lingering emotions of a very bad experience, and the client felt much better after the session. We've been working together for over two months now (long breaks between sessions), and she said her life has become so much better. (I love that. LOVE IT.)

Writing took time. Not the actual writing, but getting ready for it. I need to tap more. At least the blogs are done for this week.

Today, more writing, definitely a nap, and enjoying the good weather.

Wishing you all a great day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I might go home early from work today. I have enough overtime to do that easily. I just want to be close to my own bathroom, is all.

I wrote yesterday. Still a struggle. Still not tapping as much as I could. And should.

Dragon tale is growing. It'll probably reach 40 by the time I get the big showdown done and go for the epilogue.

Weather is dry and warm here. I'm reluctant to say "hot" because I know many people who live with higher temps than we're having here. But it is getting "hot" for here today.

Wishing you a lovely day! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Firle: I had a thought ...

Check out all your favorite authors websites/blogs, and see how many rejections they got before they sold a story. Check out how many works they wrote before they sold one. And check on how many published stories they had on the market before one of their works became popular. I'm betting your numbers aren't as bad as many others, and they were traditionally published, so you have it better off now than they did years back.

Don't give up. Give it another 10 years. emoticon

Err. I meant 40k as in size of the story. emoticon

(I'm 53. *laughs*)

Oh, yes, I am very aware of how long it took for others to become known and bestsellers. And I know enough on FB who had their day and are being forgotten... in these days, publishing often is very important, as well as building a group of superfans.

I have more or less 14 years left (if I stay in that job) before I NEED my books to supplement my pension. I think that's doable. emoticon

Re: 2018 Chat

Headachy this morning. The weather changed, which might be the reason. It rained yesterday, which was really good. Now it's dry again, mostly cloudy.

Writing wasn't easy yesterday. I had all day, and only managed 1k words in the evening with a push. *sigh*

Part of me feels utterly exhausted and wants nothing more than a month of sleep. Hehehe. Instead, I'm back at my office desk. Of course.

Happy Writing, everyone! emoticon emoticon
