Meet My Character (February Challenge)
This challenge is a bit different from most. The scenario is that you have just gotten out of bed when a story idea smacks you between the eyes!
Quickly you run to write down your latest brainchild but before you get the chance a character from the story idea intrudes, and you start writing out the character's description and what you know about him/her/it. So go ahead, you don't need to write your story. You have to bring your character to life (before the end of February). Can you do it?

Re: Meet My Character (February Challenge)
Chanel Winton Tennison
"Please come in. I ask that you pardon the mess in the living room. Brad and I just returned from Dallas, and neither of us is up to cleaning today." The young woman motioned me into the tiny kitchen of her home and motioned for me to take a seat. "Do you want to get right to it or can I get you a drink first? I have coffee, tea, and a horrid soft drink my husband adores, 'Mountain Honey,' I think."
I settled for ice water which wasn't on her list. "Mrs. Tennison," I started, but she interrupted me before I could go any farther.
"I don't allow formality inside of my home, call me Chanel."
"Okay. Chanel, please tell me a little about yourself, something to let my readers know who you are."
"You mean like stats and such? I won't tell you how old I am, but I will say I am old enough to be married and expecting my first child.
I grew up in the city, but even with a swimming scholarship, money for college was tight. Far too little to pay for my degree in forensic journalism. So I ended up leaving the city and getting my degree from a small college about one hundred miles from here. That is where I met Brad, my husband. He was a camp minister, and we both loved camping the old-fashioned way. Was Fate on our side? I like to think so. I graduated a month before he was given the church assignment over here. You know, years ago the church would have thrown Brad out because we were living in the same house without being married? Brad was still uncomfortable about it but, true-love, like we have, combined with youth, does conquer all." Chanel chuckled at a memory known only to her.
"So you moved to this small town with your future husband. Was he supporting you then?"
"God no! The church provided us with this house we live in and $1000 a month for living expenses. I went into a home-based transcription business and worked in the summer as a lifeguard for the towns children's pool. That's what led me to save the world, the transcription service that is."
"I don't have a camera Chanel. I know this sounds cheesy but..."
Chanel smiled, "but you want a physical description, right?"
"Could you, please? I wouldn't want people to bash me for giving your appearance from a 'mans' point of view."
"Hmm... The numbers are 5'7" which is relatively normal for a female swimmer. My 'measurements' are 34-25-35, and I weigh 122 lbs. I have brown hair and chestnut colored eyes. I wear my hair 'pixie style' most of the time. I have been called beautiful by some, but I think those folks are just being polite, in my opinion. I do believe I could be classed as pretty by the opposite sex, even if my nose is smaller than it should be."
"Thank you for your time, Chanel."
