Re: I Wrote Today!
In my sequel, I wanted to pay tribute to a character who died. The characters name was Penny Valez, and she was an amateur playwright and cello player. She wrote music for a "piano guys" style rendition of a song called "I Can't Do It Alone." Sooo... I decided to have Henry playing it as instrumental background music, during his meeting with the Admiral.
I added 249 words to "Transit Promises" tonight before calling it quits for the day.

Hurrah for 10k!
I started a Beauty and the Beast kind of story set in Crete. Last night, when I couldn't sleep, I plotted out most of it.
It's a Joanna tale, with explicit stuff.

I am on page seven in "Beyond the Window." Today I added another 223 words to the story.
My Fairy is in the lodge now. She has changed her shape, so she appears to be a white moth.
The man is a petty and evil person. He is looking for an excuse to beat the boy.
The boy is doing what he can to avoid being "punished."

Oh! I think I'm glad the fairy is in the house now.
Yay for writing!
I put about 200 words into my B&B story this morning, after setting up my fitness armback through my cell phone. From the looks of it, my walk to work has almost covered half of my "steps requirement".

Re: I Wrote Today!
I wrote between 250 & 300 words on story & story collection ideas. (I figure plotting and planning counts. Maybe not towards the actual story, but to it's creation process.)
I was making a list for story ideas for a SS/FF collection, and then three on the list suddenly became one story. It may be longer than an SS, but not a full on novel. It might be a parody. Had stuff to do, so haven't gotten back to it yet.
(And I apologize. I deleted the post I made to Moonglum because it had nothing to do with this thread, he PMed me, and I realized after doing it that I don't have those powers here, officially, and overstepped my authority. I should have requested the deletion. Very sorry. -- Learning the ropes.)

Re: I Wrote Today!
I'd say planning counts, Jox. I hope so anyways because that's what I've been doing for months. I count editing as doing my writing stuff for the day as well, but maybe I'm odd that way...

Jox: Well done on the plotting! I love it when plot lines come together. And don't worry about story length at this point. The story may surprise you yet. All sizes are doing well in self-publishing, as well.
Don't worry about the deletion. It happens - it takes a while to get used to the powers. It's one reason I have a different account for my global powers.
Trying: Yes, editing is part of writing as well. Totally fine to count it.
Rick: That is a good thing. You're honoring your promise to yourself, as well as exercising self-care. Well done.
I scrapped the first sex scene in my paranormal romance - my characters just didn't want it. So now I'm moving on with the story and my female MC is thinking in solutions.

I woke up with a Romeo/Juliet story idea in my head ... with a twist. Then the idea that vampires are called, "Ticks" in some stories, and a parody vampire story idea inspired by the 'Twilight' series ... and then I got the bright idea to throw it all into one story, and not three separate stories.
I've had the vampire parody idea for a while now, just adding to it as ideas come to me. Got it all stuffed in a storage container for the day I have it all fleshed out. Yesterdays ideas may be moving it closer to the starting stages.

I've tried to delete posts on other boards before and get a page telling me I can't do that, but now I won't get that warning, so I gotta be extra careful. My first day I accidentally went into the Admin forums as well, but caught myself before clicking on any threads and backed out asap. I redid a couple of my boards to make it easier to know which forums were hidden/private/etc. for other global admins. [I thought it was like the hidden threads on boards I own ... and that global admins saw: (hidden) (private) (invite only) (submit application). Now I know that isn't the case.]

Yeah ... but over time, you'll have one book finished, one book in editing, and a third book in first draft stage. And several short works in various stages as well.

Re: I Wrote Today!
You know, considering your time limits and how much you work, your progress may be slow, but it's rather impressive.
Don't feel bad about your pace. It's what you can do, and I've rarely seen someone as determined to tell their story as you. Right now, you are moving from "just writing" into creating a production system that allows for both writing and editing. And eventually, you'll add "formatting" and "marketing" to your system, and your writing may have to slow down even more. Or maybe you can shift some of your time over to your book production business.
This is early days, my friend. You've only been doing this for a year. You will get better and you will get faster.

Today I was able to add 203 words to "Beyond the Window." No character has a name yet, but the Fairy has revealed herself. The "boy" didn't give her much choice in keeping her shapeshifted form. He used magic on her, and she is a tad bit upset about everything that is going on around her. She broke the "magic" by revealing her real shape. The man is fixing to get a surprise.

Re: I Wrote Today!
Well done!
I'm determined to practice what I preach now, since I totally believe mindset is key to becoming successful author. So when I couldn't get started on writing yesterday evening and time was running out - I tapped.
For the first time, I wrote out tapping phrases before going in, because I want to document this from now on. I need those stories to share with my clients.
On the third round through the tapping points, my resistance disappeared and I came up with the first new sentence to write. And I took it from there and finished the difficult scene. It needs editing. But I wrote.

Firlefanz: Does your camera do video? Video yourself as you're tapping, to help you later on when you're writing/editing your 'tapping journal.' If you have more than one camera, or prop up you phone, and video from various angles. Can save the videos for your YouTube channel classes. (I think they let you set it up so that private videos are viewed only by those you allow to see them? -- Or so the Patreon website leads me to believe.)

Re: I Wrote Today!
Jox: I have thought a lot about tapping videos, and yes, I did some for NaNo.
Yet I very much dislike videos with tapping rounds. There is one guy who has over 300 up on YouTube, and people keep telling me how great he is (I don't think he is, after watching some.) Someone just contacted me to ask if I would link to her versions of his videos with German subtitles. I refused.
The problem is that the tapping needs to be individual. It must be focused on the person's own problems, fears, beliefs or emotions, or it will be much less effective. Yet many of those videos promise "instant shifts".
That is a lie.
And if someone wants to use the tapping effiently on themselves, I cannot spare them the learning curve. They have to learn to listen to themselves, to feel their own emotions and accept them before they can shift them.
You can't have personal growth without personal investment. Anyone who promises that is a charlatan and gives EFT a bad name. I won't be one of them.
Also, if you use tapping phrases that go deep, you risk triggering trauma. EFT goes deep quickly. And I seriously do not want to do that to a person sitting alone at home. It is not safe. This is why I am not a fan of tapping videos.
Yes, YouTube has a setting where you need to have the link in order to see the videos. I won't record myself even so. I often don't even do the tapping and talking out loud. And my issues are different from the next writer's issues.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back to topic.
Rick: Well done!
I wrote a bit for my Dragon story yesterday, and for the paranormal romance this morning. My MC is getting ready to ask for a miracle.
Re: I Wrote Today!
I wrote over 1500 words on my story ideas ... wrote out a conversation for one of the stories, and will probably end up in the first draft at some point when I start on it.
Firlefanz: I hadn't realized tapping was so involved. I've seen some videos on YouTube and figured it was something for the masses, not individual. ... hmm ... Perhaps only refresher videos for how each person can go about setting up their own personal session, not the actual tapping itself? Something they can watch once they've left your office and are trying to do as you instructed?
BTW: I just throw stuff at you because I find having ideas tossed at me can give me ideas I might not have come up with without others just throwing stuff out there. Maybe get you to look in a direction you might have missed without an outside influence. --- Planting seeds to see what grows. --- It doesn't matter if nothing I suggest works, It's that chance it could lead to fresh ideas that might/will work.
*Hope I'm not annoying you.*
[Edit]
Note: I tend to write in long-hand, so I had to count each word on the page. I prefer to write this way, and then type it up later. Sometimes I do rewrites in long-hand before typing anything up ... depends on how much there is. And, even once I get it typed up, I'll do rewrites in ink before editing the document/s. I like having these hard copies should something happen to the file/s on the computer. I'll even print out the whole doc if I do a major rewrite, just to have the hard copy version.
