Dynamic descriptions

We all struggle to bring our stories to life, to make the words grip the readers' imagination and suck them into the tale.

Here are great examples of how to do that.

Re: Dynamic descriptions

I firmly believe that emotion and senses need to be added to bring life to our descriptions. The author captures that advice pretty well. However, her choice of examples is mostly awful. There are a couple of good ones but she seems overly enamored of this one particular author whose prose I find clumsy.... (and the snippets, which may have held great power for her while reading, do not really inspire or evoke anything when separated from their context).
